ABOUT US
Hello! Phillip Henry here. Thanks for visiting our website. I'd like to take a minute to introduce ourselves and explain our process.
My wife, Michelle, and I both graduated from University of Georgia in 2013 and moved away for a few years, but ultimately found each other and found our way back to the city that we love. We started Athens Classic Real Estate because we love the Classic City, and we want to help other people find their home here too!
After becoming a licensed Realtor, I quickly discovered that my favorite part of the real estate business was building relationships and connecting people. Before her recent transition to full-time mom of two, Michelle worked in healthcare as a dietitian. As a dietitian, Michelle's superpower was connecting with patients, understanding their needs, making recommendations and being their advocate. She brings that same attitude and demeanor to this endeavor.
There are plenty of great agents here in the Classic City, and we want to help you find the perfect fit!
OUR PROCESS (needs infographic)
You fill out the brief questionnaire to help us understand your needs, desires, and budget.
Once you submit the form, one of us will follow up with a 15-30 minute phone call to get to know you better! (Our goal is to call within 24 hours of receiving your questionnaire.)
Using our understanding of your unique situation and personality, we will make a recommendation of a local real estate agent, and local lender if needed / desired. (It's best to go into the home buying process with an understanding of your budget and a prequalification letter.)
We will introduce you to the agent, and share your information so they better understand your individual needs.
At that point, we will check in periodically to see how things are going.
Once the transaction closes, we will receive a small portion of the commission. That means that there is no additional cost to you for this service! We provide value to you by introducing our local connections, and value to the agent by introducing them to a qualified buyer/seller (you!).
NOTE: There will be some standard paperwork along the way just to make sure everything is legal and binding, but nothing scary or out of the ordinary. We will explain on the phone call.

WHY WE LOVE THE ATHENS AREA
Here are some of the things that we love about Athens and the surrounding area:
It's a great place to raise a family! Oconee County schools are the best in the state and Jefferson City / Jackson County isn't far behind. There are lots of great neighborhoods in Athens and the surrounding counties.
The Athens area is growing, but has resisted the homogeneity of traditional urban sprawl. There is a lot of local history and flavor here!
It has a slower pace of life than Atlanta, but still convenient to visit. (1 - 1.5 hr drive)
There is an abundance of natural beauty and activities for the outdoor and fitness enthusiast: the state botanical gardens, parks, hiking trails, mountain biking, running clubs, just to name a few!
For a small city, there is a rich culture! Between the University, local venues, and the Classic Center, Athens produces and attracts a wide variety of musical and cultural productions.
Athens has a vibrant food scene. Whether you're in the mood for a fancy Ramen bowl, upscale Southern dining, barbecue, authentic Latin cuisine, or even a peanut butter bacon burger, Athens has it all!
Downtown Athens has a wonderful mix of shopping and restaurants. Its a lively place, both day and night.
Whether you are in the mood to cheer at a sporting event, or enjoy a symphony orchestra performance, the University attracts and produces a bevy of young talent and they are always eager to entertain!
This list wouldn't be complete without mentioning that Athens has strong local pride. This city is full of wonderful and interesting people... maybe that's why you're thinking about moving here :)
